Viewpoints on View: Craig Au Yeung on Games, Texts and Collecting
How can the notion of ‘East Asia’ be investigated and re-interpreted through design and contemporary art?
In these videos, comic artist and food and tourism writer Craig Au Yeung shares his response to the exhibition Spinning East Asia Series I: A Compass in Hand. Au Yeung selects artworks on view and explores through them topics such as the multiple functions of games, the expression of text in contemporary life and what it means to collect and archive in times of rapid change.
For each seasonal exhibition, Viewpoints on View invites individuals from ‘outside’ of contemporary art to share their perspectives, interpretations and responses to artworks and practices on view. The cross-disciplinary conversations aim to enhance accessibility by relating and contextualising exhibition content to the public.
