Uncover the textile legacies of Hong Kong and neighbouring regions and relive the good old days through music and movement!
We invite senior members of the Tsuen Wan community to join a guided tour about the Hong Kong’s textile industrial past, followed by a dance workshop inspired by CHAT’s community programme Seed to Textile 2024: BOLOHO Open Studio. The interactive tour will introduce you to the machines and other exhibits in The D. H. Chen Foundation Gallery, offering a glimpse of the glorious past of Hong Kong’s textile industry. After that, a veteran dance teacher will turn the gallery into a community dance hall loaded with popular tunes among Chinese diaspora from the 1940s to the 1980s. Together, you will get your groove on while sharing the vibrant spirit of the Chinese communities in southern China and Southeast Asia.
