Open Call for Animal Companion’s Fur Balls for Kingsley Ng’s Artwork Globes
CHAT will present Hong Kong artist Kingsley Ng’s large-scale solo exhibition Listen to the Sound of the Earth Spinning in the summer of 2024. A collective artwork, Globes, uses fur balls to pay tribute to the precious bond between us and our animal companions.
We are calling for the owners of animal companions to collect fur at home or join the Animal Companion Grooming Workshop, and create felted fur balls (between 10-30 cm) for the art installation. Your story with your animal companions will also be displayed alongside the artwork. The results will be presented in the exhibition as little planets that each tells a touching story. As a token of gratitude for their contributions, each participant will receive a complete set of the fur ball and globe stand as a souvenir after the exhibition.
We welcome different colours and textures of fur from animal companions and even welcome a blend of fur from multiple animal companions.
The application is closed. Thank you for your support!

To maintain a hygienic and safe environment in the museum, the collected fur will be processed with a series of cleaning, pest prevention, and disinfection processes. Mill 6 Foundation Limited (MILL6) and the Centre for Heritage, Arts, and Textile (“CHAT”) shall not be responsible for any loss, liability, or damage (whether direct, indirect, or consequential) of the collected fur.
