Indigo Dip & Dye Experience
Indigo is a natural blue dye extracted from plants, such as indigofera tinctoria. In the past 2 years CHAT has developed Seed to Textile, a project that explores the community impact of growing and processing Indigo and other natural dyes in Hong Kong with a group of farmers, artists and collaborators.
In this workshop participants will experience dyeing with CHAT’s Hong Kong grown indigo at The Deck of The Mills.
Participants are invited to bring their own t-shirt or small cotton item (scarf, tote bag, shirt) for dyeing. Participants may purchase a tenugui (Japanese cotton towel) from CHAT at HKD30 per piece. Kindly note we cannot accommodate bigger pieces such as dresses, jackets or garments in heavyweight fabrics.
