Flowers of the Motherland
Come join us for a unique immersive experience at CHAT after-hours, and experience contemporary dance, art installations and craftsmanship!
Interested in the traditional craftsmanship of silk-flower-making and its modern day productions, Shanghai-based artist Wang Yiquan’s research examines the complex cultural implications interwoven into silk flower production.
Flowers of the Motherland is an immersive experience and cross-disciplinary collaboration, seamlessly blending traditional and modern productivity, nature and artificiality, and celebrates the creative processes of Wang Yiquan and collaborator Hong Kong dance artist Yang Hao.
CHAT’s curator Wang Weiwei and the two artists will conduct a meet-the-artist session after the immersive experience to share their insights on this cross-disciplinary collaboration and open the floor for Q-and-A interactions from participants.
You are strongly recommended to join the curator-led guided tour to our Spring exhibition Spinning East Asia Series II: A Net (Dis)entangled at 6:00pm prior to the immerse experience.
This event is exclusively for RSVP. Free seating.
