CHAT’s homemade indigo paste in the making
Dip-and-Dye Experience
CHAT’s Seed to Textile team has been producing indigo dye from the indigofera tinctoria grown locally at the farmlands of Sangwood – Kids Club over the past year. Under workshop facilitator Makie Chang’s guidance, participants will transform old clothing into a beautiful indigo-dyed garment!
Experience: Suitable for participants aged 7 or above
Materials: Participants are required to bring along one used garment
Language: Cantonese
Used garment requirements:
– Basic cleaning prior to workshop
– Fibre content: 70% cotton or above; blends with other natural fibres such as linen, wool, or silk also suitable
– Menswear or womenswear (For example: Shirts, blouse, skirt, dress, tote bag, socks)
– Avoid large logos and patterns
– Yellowed clothing is accepted
– Light clothing is preferred (in thickness and colour)
