CHAT’s 2024 Seed to Textile programme invites Guangzhou-based artist collective BOLOHO to lead a series of participatory activities. Together, we delve into the interactions between nature and the intricate cultural landscape in urban farming.
Immerse yourself in the joy of making in co-creative workshops with BOLOHO! CHAT’s Gallery 2 will become a venue for producing, performing and filming a cinematic project. In the artist-led workshops, you can try natural dyeing using locally sourced Chinese indigo and plants grown at three landscape installations across the city; put together a large textile backdrop; and prepare the materials for the props and costumes. Through collective painting and different textile techniques, such as sewing and fabric collage, you will contribute to BOLOHO’s new multimedia production, which will be exhibited at CHAT’s 2024 winter exhibition!
Experience level: No prior experience is needed. Suitable for children aged 12 and above.
Materials: All tools and materials are provided.
Deposit will be refunded in full upon attending the programme.
