A Piece of Cloth – Sari Draping Workshop

Free Admission|RSVP

In this introduction to sari draping, Cristina Kountiou teaches participants to drape a sari on themselves. Though not Indian by descent,  Cristina is a perpetual student of the cloth. Last year she joined a group of creatives for research in India along with the programme India by Hand and fell in love with sari draping.

This newly discovered fascination with the 5.5m piece of cloth that is intertwined and wound around the body, draping and enveloping the human form with zero waste in its truest form has inspired her to teach others about the ancient practice of draping.

Join this playful hands-on workshop to learn about the history of  the sari and draping in the Indian tradition. Each participant will be dressed in a sari lent by India By Hand.
