Woodcut workshop (banner print) with the community at Kampung Buayan, one of the villages affected by Kaiduan dam project

Pangrok Sulap Woodblock Print Workshop – Colour Between Our Lands

Pangrok Sulap, an artist collective from Sabah, Malaysia, is known for their artistic practice of using woodblock printing to highlight the pressing issues faced by local rural communities. Participants can learn the various aspects of woodblock printing, using the original woodblocks carved by Pangrok Sulap that were specifically commissioned by CHAT for its inaugural exhibition. The theme of the woodblock is focusing on gradually vanishing craftsmanship, fabric market in Hong Kong, and contemporary workers. The workshop is conducted by the CHAT Learning and Community Team.

(Due to the performance by contact Gonzo which will take place at The Hall, The Mills at 3:00-4:00pm on 26 May (Sunday), the Pangrok Sulap Woodblock Print Workshop – Colour Between Our Lands that afternoon will be cancelled.)
