Textures with Chikankari Embroidery
Chikankari is a tone-on-tone embroidery technique from Lucknow, India. Originated in the 16th century when Persian chikan embroidery was applied to the finest Indian muslin cotton, this technique saw a revival in the late 20th century. In this workshop, participants will learn to combine herringbone and raised stitches to create the basic textural designs in palm leaf, floral and grass stalks shapes.
