Güneş TERKOL

Born in 1981 in Ankara, Turkey, Güneş Terkol explores issues of gender through the use of fabric, sewing, sound and drawing. She believes in the significance of collective work and coming together with a common goal and has held collaborative workshops in different countries and cities, drawing inspiration from the everyday realities and imaginations of the participants. Since 2005, the artist has produced works both individually and as part of the artist collective Ha Za Vu Zu. She has also been a member of the collective Alaca Heyheyler since 2017 and the music group GuGuOu since 2016.

Terkol graduated from the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University and obtained a master’s degree from the Art and Design Department at Yildiz Technical University. In 2018, she completed her pedagogical formation at Mimar Sinan University. She was featured in the 16th Sharjah Biennial (2025), 6th Mardin Biennial (2024), 60th Venice Biennale (2024), 17th Biennale Jogja (2023), 17th Istanbul Biennial (2022) and other international exhibitions.
