Let’s have fun creating with nature!
Designed to inspire children as they learn about sustainable living, this two-day textile camp includes foraging for natural materials and making a unique upcycled textile piece with plant dyes. Our young creatives will develop handicraft skills while discovering about the environment that surrounds us!
Day 1: Foraging for Inspiration
Participants will learn about the plants growing at the rooftop farm of The Mills (The Deck) and dye textiles with natural dyes.
– Rooftop farm tour and foraging for leaves
– Leaf pounding activity
– Natural dyeing activity at CHAT Studio
Day 2: Making Your Own Accessory
At CHAT Lab, participants will learn to assemble a small tote bag using the textiles dyed on Day 1.
– Making a textile collage with dyed fabrics, buttons, trims and other embellishments
– Assembling the collage into a small tote bag
Experience level: No prior experience is needed. Suitable for, but not limited to, ages 6 to 10
Materials: All tools and materials are provided
Language: English with simple Cantonese and Mandarin interpretation
