10% discount for CHAT members, 15% for CHAT Patrons.
Early Bird Offer: HK$780 (by 23.12.2024)
From CHAT’s studio to the countryside, embark on a nourishing and fun-filled family adventure to learn about nature and textile culture!
Did you know a lot of fibres in your everyday clothing come from nature? Have you tried colouring textiles with plants? This half-day workshop begins in CHAT, where you and your child will learn how to use various tie-dye tools and techniques, and then dye a handkerchief using organic natural dyes prepared by CHAT. After that, we will head to Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden to explore the origins of natural dyes – where do the plants grow? What do they need to thrive? We will take a stroll through nature, experience how forests and soil sustain our lives, and listen to the stories we often overlook. Join us to discover the endless fun and possibilities of plant dyeing, all the while celebrating the generosity of nature!
Experience level: Suitable for beginners and children aged 5 and above. Each parent can bring one child.
Materials: All tools and materials are provided, including a 45 x 45 cm handkerchief.
