CHAT with Accessibility Docents: Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion
Let’s celebrate the people who are working to make our society more equal!
CHAT’s Accessibility Docent Training Programme I is the first scheme in Hong Kong to simultaneously train hearing, hard-of-hearing and Deaf individuals to lead museum experiences together as docents.
Join us as we revisit the exciting journey through the curation, development, design and implementation of the pilot programme at CHAT in 2024, highlighting the collaborative efforts of stakeholders from different backgrounds. Two practising hearing and Deaf accessibility docents will join representatives from the Centre for Sign Linguistics and Deaf Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and SLCO Community Resources to reflect on the insights gained through the programme, exploring museums’ potential in advocating inclusivity and building a vibrant and diverse community.
To experience the Accessibility Tour first-hand, join us at CHAT Reception at 1:45pm or 3:45pm before the event! No prior registration is required for the tour.
Sign language interpretation will be provided.
Language: Cantonese and Hong Kong Sign Language
